Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rex Gunn (ranked 183 p4p, 608 weight class) and Dohn Jodson (ranked 28 p4p, 66 weight class). Gunn comes into the arena with Miami blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Gunn!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dohn Jodson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn slips a jab and a cross from Jodson.
Jodson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dohn Jodson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Jodson misses.
Gunn throws a jab when Jodson was well out of range.
Gunn takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jodson throws a hook to the side of Gunn's head but Gunn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jodson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gunn throws out the jab.
Jodson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gunn's head backwards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It seemed like Jodson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A telegraphed right hand from Gunn misses the target.

and Gunn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gunn slips under a jab from Jodson.
Gunn appears to be looking for a big counter.
Jodson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunn throws a looping overhand right but Jodson ducks down to avoid it.
Gunn slips a straight right by Jodson.
Gunn punishes Jodson's body with a nice straight punch.
Jodson misses with a lunging right hand
letting Gunn counter with a right hand.
Jodson connects with a leg kick.
Gunn scores with a hook to the body. Jodson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gunn cracks Jodson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gunn has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Jodson to stand back up!
Jodson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jodson walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Gunn swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rex Gunn!
