PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Johnson (ranked 87 p4p, 178 weight class) and Macca Outback (ranked 12 p4p, 29 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macca Outback!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We've been informed that Outback has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

It seemed like Outback was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Outback counters with a head kick that drops Johnson to the mat! Johnson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Outback gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Outback.
Outback tries to throw a body punch but Johnson avoids it by throwing Outback back against the cage.
Outback lands an uppercut.
Outback keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Outback moves away.
Johnson switches off momentarily and Outback cracks him with a monster right hand! Johnson topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Outback dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Outback!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Macca Outback!
