Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derek Erwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Smart!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Hemmingworth and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smart takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Erwin lands a jab to the head.
Erwin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Smart looks to land a right hand but Erwin moved out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Erwin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Erwin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Smart connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Smart is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Erwin's half guard.

We've been informed that Smart has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Erwin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Erwin is staying active underneath Smart, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Erwin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Erwin pushes a forearm under Smart's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smart is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
