The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Savage is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Marley's half guard.

Marley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Savage pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

The fighters are battling for position here. Marley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Savage has gone for a leg lock! Marley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Savage's guard.

Marley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Savage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marley has managed to get both his arms back between Savage's legs - danger averted.

Marley drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Savage dives on top into guard.

Marley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Savage drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Savage has Marley in his guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Savage is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marley defends well.
