Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuro Nagasaki (ranked 79 p4p, 57 weight class) and Darren Dixon (ranked 14 p4p, 11 weight class). Nagasaki comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Souls - Joy Division . Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 41 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuro Nagasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Dixon! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nagasaki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dixon. Nagasaki throws a low kick, looking for Dixon's leg but Dixon calmly moves out of range. The fighters circling - Nagasaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dixon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dixon blocks a low kick nicely. Yuro Nagasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nagasaki tries a head kick but it misses.
Dixon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nagasaki's head. Dixon just misses with a punch to the body.
Nagasaki works the jab nicely. Nagasaki dips to his left and cracks Dixon with an uppercut! Nagasaki seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Dixon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nagasaki.
Dixon is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Dixon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nagasaki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dixon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nagasaki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dixon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nagasaki keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagasaki is looking to regain half guard here but Dixon keeps moving and retains side control. Nagasaki is working hard here to advance position. Dixon has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nagasaki working to try and regain half guard.
Dixon tries to control but Nagasaki wriggling away. Nagasaki is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nagasaki wants to hold on but Dixon pushes him away. Nagasaki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dixon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Nagasaki regains half guard. Dixon is trying to control. Nagasaki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nagasaki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nagasaki. Dixon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nagasaki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nagasaki's guard. Nagasaki is looking to control Dixon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nagasaki avoid being mounted? Nagasaki works his way to full guard. Good work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nagasaki is on top in guard.
Nagasaki is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Dixon has his foot on Nagasaki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nagasaki works his way back into a safe position though. Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nagasaki defends it easily. Dixon has Nagasaki pulled in close to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nagasaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Dixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dixon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nagasaki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nagasaki lands a couple of digs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dixon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Nagasaki controls from within his opponent's guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yuro Nagasaki will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Nagasaki goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Nagasaki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dixon manages to avoid it. Nagasaki throws a jab but it's blocked by Dixon. Dixon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nagasaki defends it nicely. Nagasaki misses with an uppercut. Nagasaki tries a head kick but it misses.

And Dixon tries to counter it with a takedown but Nagasaki pushes his down on his head and steps out. Nagasaki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dixon defending well as Nagasaki loads up on a big left hand. Nagasaki moves out of range of the strikes. Dixon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nagasaki! Nagasaki manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Nagasaki is looking to get to half guard. Dixon with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Dixon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nagasaki is looking to escape. Nagasaki tries to hold on but Dixon pushes him away. Nagasaki tries to reverse the position but Dixon maintains control. Dixon moves to take his opponent's back. Nagasaki staying busy and making it hard for Dixon to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki turns into Dixon and is now in his guard.
Nagasaki cracks Dixon with a solid left hand. Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nagasaki defends it easily. Dixon has his hands on Nagasaki's head, controlling the position. Nagasaki is in close to Dixon's body, working some short punches and elbows. Our spies down at at King's Cross MMA inform us that Dixon has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Nagasaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Dixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dixon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nagasaki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nagasaki is aware though and is defending well. Dixon has his foot on Nagasaki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nagasaki works his way back into a safe position though. Nagasaki working some strikes from top position. Nagasaki content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Nagasaki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nagasaki has managed to get both his arms back between Dixon's legs - danger averted. Nagasaki sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dixon's guard. Nice strikes from Nagasaki there. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nagasaki connects with a nice short shot to Dixon's temple. Nagasaki is nestled in close to Dixon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nagasaki slips a nice elbow through Dixon's hands, connecting with Dixon's forehead. Nagasaki trying to control from Dixon's half guard. Dixon has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon looking for a sweep. Not yet Dixon, not yet. Nagasaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dixon working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Nagasaki has passed into half guard!
Dixon tries to roll over but Nagasaki keeps him under control. Dixon trying to hold on to Nagasaki's head to control him but Nagasaki postures up.
Dixon has hold of Nagasaki's hands but Nagasaki slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nagasaki wants to control but Dixon is keeping him busy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yuro Nagasaki dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round! Nagasaki lands a jab-cross combination. Dixon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nagasaki in his tracks. Nagasaki throws a lazy right hand but Dixon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dixon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nagasaki. Nagasaki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dixon but Dixon pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dixon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fighters circling - Nagasaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dixon goes for a double leg but Nagasaki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nagasaki continues to drive forward. Dixon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice jab there from Nagasaki. A slow jab from Nagasaki misses its intended target. Nice defenses there by Dixon. Dixon connects with a body shot. Dixon connects with a looping right hand.

Dixon goes for a double leg but Nagasaki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nagasaki continues to drive forward. Yuro Nagasaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Dixon. Dixon scores with a nice head shot. Dixon looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Nagasaki keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully. Dixon preventing the sweep. Dixon trying to control the position from guard on top but Nagasaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nagasaki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dixon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nagasaki controlling the position. Darren Dixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dixon in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Nagasaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nagasaki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dixon is working away from the top position though. Nagasaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nagasaki trying to control from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dixon slips a jab from Nagasaki. Dixon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nagasaki is trying to defend but Dixon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Dixon has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Yuro Nagasaki is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dixon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dixon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Nagasaki tries to hold on but Dixon postures up. Nagasaki is trying desperately to improve position.
And that's the end of the fight! Darren Dixon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Nagasaki has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
