Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walter Jackson (ranked 3404 p4p, 1044 weight class) and Dubaku Womba (ranked 429 p4p, 141 weight class). Womba has chosen Damian Marley - Road to Zion ft. Nas as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Walter Jackson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dubaku Womba!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Womba closes the distance and clinches.
Jackson pushes Womba back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jackson misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson missing with knees to the body.
Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jackson tries to work over Womba's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Womba holding his opponent close, against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Womba avoiding damage as Jackson throws knees to the body.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short uppercut from Jackson .
Womba drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jackson pushes off an throws an elbow but Womba leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Jackson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Womba blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jackson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wombas head.

Womba tightens his grip and picks Jackson up, before dumping him to the ground. Jackson manages to land in guard.

Jackson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Womba stacks Jackson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Womba!

Jackson tries to roll over but Womba keeps him under control.

Jackson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Womba has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

That was a close round but I would say that Walter Jackson will probably get the nod.

Jackson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Womba throws a body punch but Jackson moves out of range.

Jackson struggles to land a body shot inside as Womba controls his hands.

Womba gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Womba lands a nice short elbow.
Jackson has hold of Womba's hands but Womba slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Womba pulls his head out easily.

Womba takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dubaku Womba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Womba cracks Jackson with an open hand slap.
Jackson throws a head kick but Womba moves out of range.
Jackson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Womba gets a clinch.
Jackson misses with a knee to the head.
A head punch on the inside from Jackson fails to land.

Womba lands a takedown into guard.
Jackson is wriggling around but Womba manages to pass to half guard.

Womba landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Womba looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Womba has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Jackson tries to reverse the position but Womba maintains control.
Jackson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Womba is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Womba to get the leverage.
Womba wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.
Womba is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Womba is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Womba prevents Jackson from improving his position.
Womba slows the pace down in half guard.

Womba is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Womba in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Womba is nestled in close to Jackson , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jackson actively working from the bottom here.

Womba moves into full mount! Jackson won't be happy about that!
Womba lands a couple of good shots and Jackson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Womba trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Jackson is trying to remain composed but Womba is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Can Jackson hold on?! Womba is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Womba is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Well, with Womba on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Jackson is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Womba doesn't have the hooks in and Jackson manages to turn into his guard.
Jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Womba looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Dubaku Womba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Womba has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
