Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Nowak (ranked 3075 p4p, 5654 weight class) and Dade Desjardins (ranked 399 p4p, 578 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dade Desjardins enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jan Nowak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dade Desjardins! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nowak catches Desjardins with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Nowak feints and as Desjardins raises his hands in defense, Nowak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nowak trying to control but Desjardins is working from the bottom. Nowak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Desjardins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nowak has managed to get both his arms back between Desjardins's legs - danger averted. Nowak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Desjardins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nowak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Desjardins on the ground. Desjardins keeping moving, preventing Nowak from controlling successfully. Desjardins working for a triangle but Nowak defends it easily.
Desjardins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nowak is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nowak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nowak has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Desjardins prevents Nowak from moving into mount. Desjardins is trying to get back to half guard. Desjardins trying to remain calm as Nowak controls from the top position. Desjardins is looking to regain half guard here but Nowak keeps moving and retains side control. Nowak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Desjardins keeps working. Nowak tries to move into full mount but can't pass Desjardins's legs. Nowak is looking to take a break and control but Desjardins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nowak happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Desjardins is looking for a sweep. Desjardins trying to remain calm as Nowak controls from the top position. Desjardins stops Nowak from passing to mount. Nowak is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Desjardins's shoulder. That is not cool. Desjardins is trying to control Nowak's posture but Nowak avoids it. The referee asks Nowak politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nowak prefers to stall for the moment though. You can see the frustration on Desjardins's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Desjardins drives through with a takedown into Nowak's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Desjardins wants to control from the top but Nowak keeps moving.

Nowak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Desjardins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dade Desjardins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nowak gets the takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Desjardins is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Desjardins wants to control but Nowak postures up. Desjardins manages to get back to half guard. Still in half guard, Nowak seems content to control. Desjardins trying to hold on to Nowak's head to control him but Nowak postures up.

Nowak is thwarting Desjardins's attempts to control the position. Desjardins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nowak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nowak's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Desjardins working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Desjardins is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Nowak knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Nowak for a finish. Desjardins not allowing Nowak to control his hands. Nowak tries to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nowak is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Desjardins gets his way!
Nowak is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
