Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miyata San (ranked 1823 p4p, 2136 weight class) and Jeryl Christ (ranked 197 p4p, 231 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Miyata San!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeryl Christ!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ misses with a lunging right hand
and San counters with a left to the body.

and Christ counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
San takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Christ gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Christ moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Christ looks to throw the jab but San is out of range.
San's jab looks to have found its range, popping Christ under the eye.
The fighters circle momentarily. Christ darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
San throws a body punch but Christ moves out of range.
San ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Christ throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
San rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Christ moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
San takes one to the chin there.
San throws a body shot but no joy.
Christ doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
San looks to score with a jab to the body but Christ is just out of range.

San lands an overhand right.
Christ moves out of range as San strikes.
San scores with a crisp jab that stopped Christ in his tracks.
Christ stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
San looks to score with a jab to the body but Christ is just out of range.

San shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
San throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Christ is trying to defend against the ground and pound but San scores with a couple of nice shots.
Christ pushes San off looking to stand but San dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
San is nestled in close to Christ, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

San shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Christ napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Christ felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Christ might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
