Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 338 p4p, 349 weight class) and George Peterson (ranked 51 p4p, 54 weight class). George Peterson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson moves to clinch but Choke breaks away

and Choke counters with a single leg into guard. Peterson didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Choke throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Choke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Peterson lands a left and a right that send Choke crashing to the mat, dazed. Peterson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like David Choke has been cut.

Peterson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Choke is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Peterson to the mat. Peterson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Choke wants to pass the guard but Peterson is keeping the position.

Choke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Choke throws a strike but Peterson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Choke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Peterson pulls his head out easily.
Peterson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Choke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Choke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Peterson defends well.
Choke thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Peterson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Choke keeps working.

so Choke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Choke won't allow Peterson to get back to his feet.

Choke postures up in Peterson's guard and throws a big left but Peterson blocks it.

Peterson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Choke off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Peterson throws an overhand right that lands on Choke's shoulder, as Choke tries to avoid the shot.
Choke lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Peterson moves into the clinch successfully.
Peterson misses with a body punch.
Choke tries for a takedown. No joy.
Peterson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Choke or not.
Peterson lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Peterson struggles to land a body shot inside as Choke controls his hands.
Peterson scores with a shot to the side of Choke's head.

Choke gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Peterson regains guard.

Peterson wriggles free and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
George Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Choke takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson. Choke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Choke tries to counter with a takedown but Peterson is quick to defend against it.

Choke drops down looking for an ankle pick but Peterson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Peterson throws a shot from downtown. Choke moves away and avoids it.
Choke drops down looking for a counter takedown but Peterson sprawls and moves away.
Peterson misses with a straight left.
Choke slips a jab and a cross from Peterson.
Peterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Choke circles away quickly and effectively.
Choke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Peterson swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Choke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

George Peterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Choke moves out of range as Peterson strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Choke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peterson defends it well.
Choke takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Choke tries to pass the half guard into mount. Peterson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Peterson is sitting in close to Choke's body. Choke has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Peterson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Peterson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Choke.
