Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Helix (ranked 1470 p4p, 739 weight class) and Mickey Cowan (ranked 93 p4p, 49 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Cowan!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cowan has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Helix might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Helix closes the distance looking for a takedown. Cowan stuffs it but Helix still has hold of him. Helix picks Cowan up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Helix slams Cowan to the floor and that's really hurt Cowan - he doesn't know where he is! Helix throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
