The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McDonald.
McDonald ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McDonald finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head.
McDonald misses with an uppercut.
McDonald avoids a kick to the body.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and McDonald moves out of range easily.
Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
McDonald misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.

Johnson misses with an uppercut. McDonald saw that one coming.
Nice uppercut lands for McDonald. That snapped Johnson's head back.

Johnson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McDonald backwards.
Johnson digs a right hand underneath McDonald's ribcage. McDonald let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Johnson cracks McDonald with a big right hand and McDonald goes down!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
McDonald tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Johnson gets to his feet. McDonald looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
McDonald misses with an uppercut.

Johnson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Johnson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McDonald's head.
McDonald glances at the clock... BAM! Johnson nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends McDonald crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, McDonald is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). LaTroy Johnson!
After winning the bout, LaTroy Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
