Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danjuma Legba (ranked 485 p4p, 561 weight class) and Sergey Shipilov (ranked 82 p4p, 91 weight class). Legba comes into the arena with Dez Only 1 - Witchdoctor blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shipilov scores with a nice right hand.
Legba is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Legba tries to work over Shipilov's front leg with a kick but Shipilov checks it.
Shipilov takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Legba closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Legba seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've been hearing that Legba has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Legba is just content to waste time from the top position. Shipilov takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Legba avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Shipilov has his foot on Legba's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Legba works his way back into a safe position though.

Shipilov has an active guard here but Legba has managed to pass into half guard.

Legba is taking a breather. Shipilov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Legba takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Legba seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shipilov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Legba content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Shipilov has locked up a guillotine! Shipilov's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Legba is holding on here and Shipilov must be using up a lot of energy. Legba has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Shipilov gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
