Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Slam (ranked 34 p4p, 90 weight class) and Felix Inarritu (ranked 5 p4p, 16 weight class). Inarritu has chosen Vulcano as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Felix Inarritu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 37 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felix Inarritu!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slam misses with an uppercut
and Inarritu counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Ben Slam has been cut.
Slam connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Felix Inarritu has been cut.
Slam looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ben Slam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A swing and a miss from Slam.
Slam feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Inarritus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Slam ducks under a wild hook from Inarritu.
Slam misses with a hook.
Inarritu was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Slam misses with a kick to the body
and Inarritu counters with a nice body shot.
Slam throws a lazy uppercut
and Inarritu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Slam throws a leg kick but Inarritu moved away.
It seemed like Inarritu was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Inarritu misses with a looping right.
Inarritu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slapping body kick lands there for Slam.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Inarritu walks into a jab.
Slam scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Inarritu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Slam throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Inarritu counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Inarritu ducks right into an uppercut from Slam.
Slam avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Slam keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Slam is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Inarritu.
Inarritu throws a shot from downtown. Slam moves away and avoids it.
Inarritu ducks under a wild hook from Slam.

Slam cracks Inarritu with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Inarritu looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Slam finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Inarritu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slam manages to avoid it.
Inarritu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Slam.
Inarritu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Slam throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Inarritu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slam.
Slam is looking to counter punch.

letting Inarritu counter with a right hand.
Slam throws a lazy right hand but Inarritu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Inarritu was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Slam scores with a jab to the head.
Slam lands a big right hook! Inarritu looks hurt but is still standing! Slam lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Inarritu falls down and Slam dives in with a huge hammer fist! Inarritu's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Slam runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ben Slam!
