Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews moves to clinch but Summers breaks away
and Summers counters with a stiff right hand.
Matthews fails to land the takedown.
Summers throwing a counter right hand but Matthews manages to avoid it.
Jab by Summers.

Matthews dives in and scores a takedown into Summers's guard.
Matthews throwing strikes but missing.
Summers trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matthews tries to free his leg and advance position but Summers is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthews has gone for a leg lock! Summers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Matthews's guard.

Summers wants to control from the top but Matthews keeps moving.

Matthews is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Matthews has his foot on Summers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Summers works his way back into a safe position though.
Summers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Summers wants to control from the top but Matthews keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Summers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Matthews is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Summers is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Summers tries to control but Matthews wriggling away.
Matthews is looking to get to half guard.

Summers sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Matthews slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Summers trying to pass the guard but Matthews defending well.
Summers stops Matthews from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Summers is controlling the pace.
Matthews tries to get to full guard but Summers has control of the leg.
Summers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch up but Summers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Summers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Matthews.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Matthews.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Summers will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Matthews shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Summers as he avoids it easily.

and Summers scores with a counter punch that sends Matthews to the canvas! Summers smells blood - he's punishing Matthews with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Matthews has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Summers!
An out of breath Samuel Summers thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
