Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolai Volkov (ranked 2064 p4p, 3789 weight class) and Prince Kazzam (ranked 79 p4p, 143 weight class). Volkov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rasputin - Boney M.. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikolai Volkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Prince Kazzam!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazzam falls off balance throwing a combination
and Volkov counters with a nice body kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Kazzam. That snapped Volkov's head back.
Volkov throws a big shot that misses.
Kazzam has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kazzam bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kazzam lands a lovely overhand right.
Volkov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kazzam throws a combination. Volkov tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Volkov lands a leg kick that knocks Kazzam off balance momentarily.
Kazzam looks to land a combination but Volkov avoids it well.
Volkov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kazzam sprawls and moves away.

and Volkov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volkov misses with the combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kazzam! But no joy.

Kazzam lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kazzam cracks Volkov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Volkov avoids the body shot from Kazzam.
Kazzam looks to land a combination. Volkov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kazzam tries to clinch but Volkov moves out of range.
Kazzam is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kazzam steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Volkov.
That kick from Volkov tenderised Kazzam's leg. Kazzam is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kazzam is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Volkov has been working on his balance at Cause & Effect, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Kazzam.
Kazzam catches Volkov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Volkov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kazzam tries to clinch but Volkov is having none of it.
Volkov throws a quick counter kick to the body but Kazzam avoids it.
Kazzam fails with an attempt to clinch.
A counter left hand to the body from Volkov misses its target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kazzam looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Volkov scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kazzam ducks under a wild hook from Volkov.
Volkov needs to keep his hands up - Kazzam had a free shot at his head there.
Volkov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kazzam.
Kazzam ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Kazzam lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Kazzam moves to clinch but Volkov breaks away
and Volkov counters with a straight right hand.
Kazzam is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Kazzam tries to clinch but Volkov moves out of range.
Kazzam misses with a body shot.
Prince Kazzam is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kazzam lands a glancing blow to the side of Volkov's head.
Kazzam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kazzam jabs Volkov right on the nose. Volkov blinks but takes it well.
Volkov just misses with a punch to the body.
Volkov slips under a jab from Kazzam.
Volkov throwing a counter right hand but Kazzam manages to avoid it.
Kazzam moves in looking to clinch but Volkov pushes him off.
Volkov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Volkov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Oooh a lovely combination from Volkov sends Kazzam down but not out. Volkov dives into side control looking to finish.
Kazzam is rocked!
It looks like Prince Kazzam has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Volkov scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kazzam is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Volkov can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikolai Volkov!
