The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanner throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Genghis Khan has been cut.

Khan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Spanner has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Khan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Spanner's sensitive parts.

Khan takes the fight into the clinch.
Spanner tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Khan avoids it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Khan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Khan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Khan pushes Spanner back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Khan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Spanner backwards.
Khan with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Still in the clinch, Khan scores with a nice short uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Khan fails to land.
Khan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Spanner prevents a body shot from Khan.
Spanner tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Spanner swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Still in the clinch, Khan scores with a nice short uppercut.
Khan lands with a short punch from the clinch.

The cut above Bleeding Spanner's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Khan looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Khan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Khan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Spanner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Khan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Spanner is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bleeding Spanner's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Genghis Khan!
A very excited looking Genghis Khan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Bleeding Spanner was interviewed post fight and said 'That was fucking bullshit!'.
