PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lord Mammon (ranked 2085 p4p, 1454 weight class) and Darwin Budluvski (ranked 271 p4p, 198 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lord Mammon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darwin Budluvski!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Budluvski forces Mammon back against the cage and clinches.
Mammon tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Budluvski manages to break the clinch.
Mammon slips a jab and a cross from Budluvski.
Mammon tries to close the distance and clinch but Budluvski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Budluvski swats away the attempt to clinch by Mammon.
Budluvski now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Budluvski moves into range and clinches up with Mammon.

Mammon jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Budluvski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mammon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mammon gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mammon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Budluvski is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mammon to the mat. Mammon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd cheers as Budluvski lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mammon doesn't seem phased though.
Mammon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Lord Mammon has been cut.
Mammon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Budluvski connects with a high kick.
Mammon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Budluvski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mammon moves into the clinch.
Mammon throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Well Budluvski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
