Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karim Johnson (ranked 63 p4p, 44 weight class) and Zahbit Lovanov (ranked 6 p4p, 4 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Don't say nuthin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Karim Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zahbit Lovanov! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lovanov connects with a jab. Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Johnson blocks a leg kick. Lovanov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Lovanov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.

and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Johnson misses with an uppercut. Lovanov saw that one coming. A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination. A decent looking cross lands there for Lovanov. Johnson takes one to the chin there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Lovanov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Johnson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lovanov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Lovanov working aggressively here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lovanov pushes Johnson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnson has a couple of punches blocked by Lovanov.

Johnson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Johnson blocks an elbow strike. Johnson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lovanov or not. Johnson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Johnson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. I was talking to Johnson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Lovanov blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Lovanov looks winded! Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Johnson lands a big uppercut and Lovanov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lovanov looks OK. Johnson waves Lovanov back to his feet!
Lovanov is rocked!
It looks like Zahbit Lovanov has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Johnson drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Lovanov's head, knocking him out cold! Johnson is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Karim Johnson! Karim Johnson retains his super heavyweight title! A very excited looking Karim Johnson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
