PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yaroslav Amosov (ranked 3170 p4p, 2733 weight class) and Jerome Tucker (ranked 353 p4p, 310 weight class). Tucker has chosen Ave Maria as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yaroslav Amosov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jerome Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amosov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tucker with the counter takedown but Amosov avoids it easily.
Tucker staying out of range there.
Tucker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Amosov lands with a hook. Tucker tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Amosov dips to his left and cracks Tucker with an uppercut!
Amosov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tucker was well out of range. Poor timing from Amosov.
A lazy left from Amosov finds it's target.
A cross from Amosov lands.
Amosov jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Amosov misses with a hook. Tucker ducked under it nicely.
Tucker drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Amosov defends it well.
Tucker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Amosov.
Tucker with the counter takedown but Amosov avoids it easily.
Tucker on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Tucker moves out of range of the strikes.
Tucker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tucker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Amosov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Amosov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tucker changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Amosov scores with a jab.
Amosov misses with a hook. Tucker ducked under it nicely.
Tucker drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Amosov defends it well.
Amosov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tucker.
Amosov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Amosov throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Tucker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Amosov's guard.
Tucker working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Amosov has momentary wrist control but Tucker slips an elbow through the middle.
Tucker is pushing down on Amosov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Amosov is fighting to maintain full guard but Tucker has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tucker is looking to advance position but Amosov won't allow it.
Tucker works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tucker throwing strikes here but Amosov is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tucker lands a big shot there that rocks Amosov but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Tucker breaks from Amosov's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Tucker has hold of Amosov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Amosov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Tucker working for a submission but Amosov is keeping him at bay.
Tucker unloads with some shots from mount but Amosov bucks and avoids them well.
Tucker throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Tucker looking to secure an arm triangle but Amosov defends it well.
Amosov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Tucker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Amosov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Amosov is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Tucker locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Amosov is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jerome Tucker!
Jerome Tucker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
