Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Valen Dreth (ranked 121 p4p, 170 weight class) and Darren Dixon (ranked 18 p4p, 24 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Valen Dreth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dixon wants to control but Dreth is keeping him busy.
Dixon has knee on belly momentarily but Dreth bucks him off and regains half guard.

Dixon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dreth sees it coming and defends easily.
Dixon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dreth does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dixon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dreth doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dixon.

Dreth is looking for a sweep. Dixon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dreth is not content to let Dixon control the position.

Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Dreth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dreth ducks right into an uppercut from Dixon.
Dixon drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dixon misses with an uppercut. Dreth saw that one coming.
Dixon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dreth sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dixon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dreth avoids it really well and circles away.

Dreth throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dixon lands a jab to the head.
Dreth avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dixon swings for the body but Dreth moves out of range.
Dixon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Valen Dreth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Dixon.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dixon throws a jab but it's blocked by Dreth.
Dreth was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab from Dixon misses.
Dixon cracks Dreth with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dixon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dreth sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A bone on bone clash there as Dixon blocks the leg kick.
Dixon shoots in but no luck this time.
Dreth appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Dixon thuds a left hand into Dreth's body.

and Dreth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dixon digs a good body shot into Dreth's ribs.
Dreth keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dixon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dreth defends well.
Dreth lands a couple of elbows.

Dixon is in trouble now - Dreth has advanced to mount!

Dixon is desperately trying to improve his position but Dreth has a good base and remains in mount.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Dixon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dixon passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Dreth!

Dixon is looking to work his way around to Dreth's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Dixon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dreth is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dreth and Dixon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dreth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dixon's guard.


Dixon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dreth is aware though and is defending well.

Dixon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Darren Dixon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dixon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Darren Dixon decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
