Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stu Redman (ranked 5278 p4p, 5476 weight class) and Pavel Sova (ranked 501 p4p, 513 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pavel Sova!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sova throws the kick towards the body but Redman avoids it.
Redman has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Forged In Fire in the buildup to the fight.
Sova misses with a hook
and Redman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sova shoots for a double leg takedown but Redman sprawls well. He's pushed Sova's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Redman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Redman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Redman misses the shot to the body.
Redman misses with a wild combination.
Redman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Redman takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Sova throws a shot from downtown. Redman moves away and avoids it.
Redman swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Redman throws a nice looking combination but Sova bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Redman getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Sova throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Redman's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sova moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Sova fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sova gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Redman.

Sova shoots in and gets a takedown into Redman's guard.
Sova looking to sit in guard and control but Redman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Redman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sova works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Redman lands strikes from half guard.
Sova gets back to full guard.
Redman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sova controls Redman momentarily but Redman frees himself.

Redman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Redman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sova is one step ahead there.
Sova wants to control from the top but Redman keeps moving.

Redman is not content to let Sova control the position.

Sova wants to take a breather but Redman is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Redman is looking for a sweep. Sova is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sova is trying to control. Redman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sova takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sova tries to pass the half guard into mount. Redman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sova in particular looking to stall.
Redman wants to control but Sova is keeping busy.
Sova trying to control the action but Redman is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Redman keeping hold of Sova's head, controlling as best he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Redman clobbers Sova with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pavel Sova will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sova.
Pavel Sova seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sova paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Redman's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sova under the eye.
Redman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Redman misses with a few strikes there.
Sova connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Redman momentarily.
Sova bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sova cracks Redman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sova thows a body kick. Redman tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Redman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sova throws a looping overhand right but Redman ducks down to avoid it.
Redman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

A shot to the liver by Sova. Beautiful body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Redman misses the target.
Redman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sova circles away quickly and effectively.
Sova fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Redman manages to avoid it.
Redman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Redman slaps away a takedown attempt from Sova, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Redman connects with a body shot that sends Sova's belly button to the back.
Sova moves to clinch but Redman breaks away
and Sova takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Horrible takedown attempt by Sova or perhaps it was just good defense by Redman, which made it look bad.
Stu Redman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pavel Sova.
Redman lands with a straight right. Sova didn't see that one coming.

Redman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sova stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Redman misses with a wild body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sova ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Redman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sova throws a head kick that half lands.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Sova.
Sova throws a nice outside leg kick.
Sova takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Sova is rocked!
Redman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sova was well out of range. Poor timing from Redman.
Sova slips a jab and a cross from Redman.
Sova bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nice defenses there by Redman.
Sova dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Redman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Redman takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sova misses with a body kick.
Sova pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Redman was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Sova.
Redman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sova looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sova moves in looking to clinch but Redman pushes him off.
Redman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Redman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Redman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sova counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sova tries to close the distance and clinch up but Redman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sova closes this distance looking for a takedown but Redman circles away.
Stu Redman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sova swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from Redman misses the target.
Redman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sova uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redman.
Redman scores with a nice head shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Redman moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Sova is still on wobbly legs! Can Redman finish him?

Redman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Redman will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Sova closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Redman did well to prevent Sova getting side control.
Redman tries to get to full guard but Sova has control of the leg.
Sova trying to control the action but Redman is working from the bottom.
Sova stops Redman from getting back to his feet.
Stu Redman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sova missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Redman is staying active underneath Sova, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sova seems to have recovered his senses.
Sova trying to mount his opponent but Redman defends it.
Sova is trying to control. Redman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sova wants to work for an arm triangle but Redman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Redman is trying to stand up here but Sova is controlling him well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stu Redman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Redman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sova on the side of the head.
Sova delivers a nice body kick.
Sova has a takedown stuffed.
A little feinted left hand from Redman on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sova moves away from the strike by Redman.
Sova takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sova shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redman as he avoids it easily.
Redman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sova shoots in for a takedown but Redman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Stu Redman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pavel Sova.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sova finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Redman's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Sova falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
