Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Averescu (ranked 1465 p4p, 2622 weight class) and Balink Tarlah (ranked 197 p4p, 328 weight class). Averescu comes to the cage accompanied by Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Averescu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Balink Tarlah! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Averescu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Dan Averescu has been cut. Averescu lands with a nice combination. Tarlah backs away looking to recover. Tarlah rushes Averescu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Averescu missing with knees to the body.
Tarlah is trying to drag Averescu to the mat but Averescu just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Tarlah goes for a takedown attempt but Averescu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Balink Tarlah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Decent striking displayed by Tarlah there. Averescu scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Tarlah throws an off balance right hand
and Averescu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Averescu lands an overhand right. Averescu keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tarlah. Averescu does a little dance to reset his feet. Tarlah pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Averescu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Tarlah on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Averescu slips under a jab from Tarlah. Averescu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tarlah. Tarlah throws a big shot that misses. Tarlah throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Averescu throws a shot to the body.
Nice shot by Tarlah. Tarlah misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Averescu.
Tarlah looks to throw the jab but Averescu is out of range. Tarlah throws a big shot that misses. Tarlah closes the distance and clinches. Tarlah managing to block the knees to the body from Averescu.
Tarlah is looking to take this one to the mat. Dan Averescu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Balink Tarlah. Tarlah has hold of one of Averescu's legs. Averescu is fighting the takedown attempt but Tarlah gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Averescu is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tarlah presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Averescu pressing his opponent against the cage. Tarlah tries for a takedown but Averescu manages to get underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarlah wants a takedown.
Averescu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Averescu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Tarlah stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Averescu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tarlah. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tarlah has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Tarlah might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Averescu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Tarlah just misses with a punch to the body.
Tarlah slips a jab from Averescu. Averescu throws a series of strikes that have Tarlah backpedaling.
Averescu blocks a jab. Tarlah throws a hook but Averescu blocks it. Tarlah fails with a takedown attempt. Averescu throws a series of strikes that have Tarlah backpedaling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Averescu scores with a one two! Tarlah had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Averescu!
The fighters circling - Tarlah throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Averescu sizes up Tarlah with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Averescu connects with the punch. Averescu lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tarlah is rocked! Averescu is working the combinations to good effect here. Averescu drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Tarlah right on the button. Tarlah goes down! Averescu follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Averescu gets the win via TKO!
