Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rukter Demenok (ranked 27 p4p, 41 weight class) and Darren Dixon (ranked 5 p4p, 7 weight class). Demenok comes to the cage accompanied by The Moby Dick Speech. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rukter Demenok!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Demenok to the mat! Demenok manages to get full guard.
Demenok keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Dixon shoots in but no luck this time.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Dixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Demenok sprawls well. He's pushed Dixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Demenok gets caught napping as Dixon dives in and scores a takedown. Demenok manages to retain guard.

Demenok has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dixon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Demenok swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Demenok is pressed up against the cage. Dixon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Demenok down to the mat. Demenok avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Demenok looks to throw the jab but Dixon is out of range.
Dixon works Demenok's body with a nice hook.
Dixon throws a jab but it's blocked by Demenok.
Demenok swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Dixon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dixon shoots in looking for a takedown but Demenok manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dixon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rukter Demenok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Dixon.

Dixon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Demenok is trying to defend but Dixon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Demenok swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Demenok is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dixon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Demenok sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dixon somewhat.
