Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nori Voluspa (ranked 955 p4p, 591 weight class) and Agansing Rai (ranked 132 p4p, 83 weight class). Rai has chosen Break Stuff as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Agansing Rai has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nori Voluspa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nori Voluspa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Agansing Rai! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voluspa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rai counters with a straight right hand. Voluspa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rai swats him away and circles back towards the center. Voluspa misses with a takedown attempt and Rai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Voluspa takes one to the side of the head.
Voluspa with a poor takedown and Rai counters with a nice body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nori Voluspa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Voluspa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Voluspa has his takedown stuffed and Rai counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Voluspa shoots and misses and Rai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Voluspa shoots and misses and Rai connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rai lands a lovely overhand right. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rai looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Voluspa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rai defends it nicely. A nice side step and Rai releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rai cracks Voluspa with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Voluspa looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Rai finish him?
Voluspa is rocked! Rai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Rai enables Voluspa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rai manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've been hearing that Voluspa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Voluspa won't allow Rai to get back to his feet. Voluspa wants to control from the top but Rai keeps moving. Rai wants to get back to his feet but Voluspa is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Voluspa tries to free his leg and advance position but Rai is retaining full guard. Rai is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Voluspa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rai is keeping the position for now. Voluspa is in close to Rai's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rai keeping moving, preventing Voluspa from controlling successfully. Voluspa pushing down on Rai's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. That's three minutes gone in the round. Voluspa passes easily into side control. Nice work. Rai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Voluspa is controlling him well. Rai regains half guard. Voluspa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rai wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Voluspa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Voluspa is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Rai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Agansing Rai dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Rai dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rai lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Voluspa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rai tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Voluspa is in Rai's guard. Voluspa keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rai's head. Voluspa trying to control the position from guard on top but Rai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Voluspa tries to free his leg and advance position but Rai is retaining full guard. Rai keeping moving, preventing Voluspa from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rai wants to sweep but no luck. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. That's three minutes gone in the round. Rai is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Voluspa striking off his back but it's not causing Rai any problems. Voluspa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rai defends it easily. Rai working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rai wanted to stand there but Voluspa had control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rai pushing down on Voluspa's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rai is looking for a kimura here.
Rai tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Voluspa trying to control from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Nori Voluspa will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Rai slaps away a takedown attempt from Voluspa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Voluspa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Voluspa prevents Rai from improving his position. Voluspa is working for a kimura here but Rai manages to reverse the position and he's now in Voluspa's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rai not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rai is looking to advance position but Voluspa has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Voluspa is just content to waste time from the top position. Rai takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Voluspa trying to control the position from guard on top but Rai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Voluspa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Voluspa lands a couple of digs. Voluspa tries to free his leg and advance position but Rai is retaining full guard. Voluspa keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rai's head. Voluspa wants to control from the top but Rai keeps moving. Voluspa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Voluspa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rai's guard. Voluspa wants to pass the guard but Rai is defending well. Voluspa scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rai taking some punishment here, with Voluspa in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Voluspa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Rai wants to get back to his feet. Rai wants to improve his position but Voluspa is controlling well.
Nori Voluspa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Voluspa missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Voluspa lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rai is trying to maintain the position but Voluspa is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rai looks like he's trying to stand up.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Voluspa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Voluspa wants to take a breather but Rai is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Nori Voluspa showed his dominance in that final round. I think Voluspa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
