The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sasaki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sasaki showed some decent athleticism there.
Machado is looking to improve his position.
Machado gets back to full guard.

Machado had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sasaki defends it easily.
Sasaki is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sasaki wants to control from the top but Machado keeps moving.

Sasaki throws a strike but Machado rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sasaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Machado drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Machado seems to have locked his on tight now - Sasaki screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Machado, as he picks up the win!
