Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Armando (ranked 2969 p4p, 2857 weight class) and Branson Burt (ranked 368 p4p, 354 weight class). Burt is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Got the Life. Branson Burt will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diego Armando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Branson Burt!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burt moves into range and clinches up with Armando.

Armando pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice uppercut lands for Armando. That snapped Burt's head back.
Burt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Armando sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Armando was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Burt tries to close the distance and clinch but Armando swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Armando connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Burt doesn't manage to clinch there - Armando circles away.
Armando throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Armando throws an overhand right that lands on Burt's shoulder, as Burt tries to avoid the shot.
Burt on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Burt takes the fight into the clinch.

Burt with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Armando looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Burt using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Armando has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Burt takes the fight into the clinch.

Armando breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Armando swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Burt moves away from the strike by Armando.

Burt closes the distance and clinches.
Burt throws a knee to the head but misses.

Armando breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burt is looking to clinch.

Burt clinches.
Burt tries to land knees in the clinch but Armando avoids the damage to the body.
Burt landing knees to the head.

It looks like Diego Armando has been cut.

Armando breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Burt moves to clinch but Armando breaks away
and Armando counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Burt darts in and clinches Armando up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burt is looking to control Armando's arms but Armando gets an underhook and turns him. Now Burt has his back to the cage.
Burt crunches a lovely knee into Armando's ribcage.

Armando breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Burt moves into the clinch.
Armando is trying to force a seperation but Burt has the dominant position.
Burt is trying to pull guard but Armando has him pressed against the cage.
Burt lands a knee to the head.

Burt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Branson Burt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armando lands a nice hook to Burt's body. Burt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Burt tries to clinch up.
Armando listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Burt doesn't manage to clinch there - Armando circles away.
Burt moves out of range as Armando strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Armando stuffs the takedown.
Burt wants to clinch but Armando slips to the side
enabling Armando to counter with a crisp jab.
Burt takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Burt is rocked!
Armando cracks Burt on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Burt falls backwards against the cage. Armando follows up with more strikes that drop Burt to his knees. Armando keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Burt! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Armando!
