Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Burns (ranked 4260 p4p, 5545 weight class) and Conrad Cartwright (ranked 437 p4p, 522 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Monty Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conrad Cartwright!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cartwright to the mat! Cartwright manages to get full guard.
Cartwright wants to sweep here but Burns controlling him for the moment.
Burns postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Burns wants to control from the top but Cartwright keeps moving.
Burns stands up over Cartwright, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Burns looking to pass the guard.
Cartwright is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burns is controlling him.
Cartwright wants to sweep but no luck.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cartwright wants to stand and escape but Burns is having none of it.

Cartwright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burns with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cartwright is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burns defends it well.
Well, if Cartwright is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A lull in the action here as Cartwright stalls from top position.
Check out the look on Cartwright's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Burns managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cartwright.

Cartwright swings around for an armbar but Burns sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cartwright's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cartwright is on top in guard.

Burns is looking to stand up but Cartwright isn't so interested in that idea.
Cartwright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cartwright postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Burns has momentary wrist control but Cartwright slips an elbow through the middle.
Cartwright would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cartwright has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cartwright slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns stops Cartwright from passing to mount.

Cartwright wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burns, who protects the arm well.

Cartwright tries to stand but Burns is controlling his head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cartwright asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Cartwright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burns keeps working.
Cartwright lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Burns down.

The strikes coming from Cartwright are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Burns is rocked!
Cartwright tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Cartwright has hold of Burns's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burns seems comfortable defending it but Cartwright has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burns is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burns is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cartwright couldn't care less - he's delighted!
