PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Norman Boma (ranked 2583 p4p, 5261 weight class) and Dalton McConnell (ranked 338 p4p, 548 weight class). Boma kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Slipknot - The Devil in I. McConnell has chosen The Reason as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norman Boma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dalton McConnell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McConnell blocks a head kick by Boma.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from McConnell! But no joy.
McConnell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boma bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McConnell checks the leg kick.
McConnell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boma manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Good leg kick by Boma.
McConnell is looking to clinch but Boma is avoiding it.
McConnell moves in looking to clinch but Boma pushes him off.
McConnell misses with a looping right.
Boma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McConnell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A nice side step and McConnell releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Boma connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Boma cracks McConnell with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Boma has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McConnell to stand back up!

McConnell is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McConnell looks up at the clock. Bad move! Boma lands a right hand from hell, dropping McConnell. Boma pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Norman Boma!
A very excited looking Norman Boma made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Dalton McConnell spoke after the fight, saying 'He got lucky tonight but I'll avenge this'.
