Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 795 p4p, 2018 weight class) and Vudu Sims (ranked 44 p4p, 108 weight class). Short comes into the arena with Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Vudu Sims will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vudu Sims!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Jerry Short has been cut.
Sims swings for the body but Short moves out of range.
Short attempts a counter takedown but Sims avoids it well and moves away.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Short.
Short has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Short is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sims has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sloppy strikes there by Short.
Short postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Short working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Short throws a strike aimed at the side of Sims's head but Sims avoids it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Short has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sims avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Short.
Sims prevents Short from moving into mount.

Sims is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Short has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Short tries to stand but Sims controls the position and pulls Short into his guard.
Short might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Short sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sims's guard.

Short thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sims's head.

Short drives through with a takedown into Sims's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Short throws a big right hand that misses.
Short stops Sims from standing up.

Sims is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Sims prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sims is pressed up against the cage. Short has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sims down to the mat. Sims avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Short counters with a shoot takedown. Sims fights it but they end up in guard.
Sims manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sims has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sims pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Short fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sims to the ground. Short is now in Sims's guard.
Sims manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Short is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sims gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Short. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sims manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Short is defended easily by Sims.

Sims scores with a sloppy right hand. Short should have avoided that one.
Short seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Sims shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Short is backing up but Sims catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Short covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Sims Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vudu Sims!
Vudu Sims seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
