Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donny Jay (ranked 619 p4p, 1433 weight class) and Mattias Lundgren (ranked 92 p4p, 208 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donny Jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mattias Lundgren!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lundgren shoots and misses
and Jay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lundgren fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jay avoids it really well and circles away.
Jay definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
An inside leg kick lands from Jay.
Jay throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Donny Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lundgren lands with a shot to the body.
Lundgren misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Lundgren tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jay swivels and escapes.

Lundgren throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jay's waist but Jay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lundgren off to one side.
Jay looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jay leaves Lundgren with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jay has his hands clasped together around Lundgren's back. He's all about the action.
Jay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lundgren is working away from the top position though.
Jay is looking for a sweep. Lundgren is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lundgren passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jay!

Lundgren wants to finish this one by submission but Jay is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lundgren.

Lundgren can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jay is looking to escape.
Lundgren lands a big shot there that rocks Jay but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lundgren avoids the attempt from Jay to control.

Lundgren wants to free his trapped foot but Jay is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lundgren keeps trying to improve his position.

Jay kicks Lundgren off and gets back to his feet.
Lundgren goes for a double leg but Jay avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jay continues to drive forward.
Lundgren shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jay but Jay pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Lundgren counters with a shoot takedown. Jay fights it but they end up in guard.
Jay has control of Lundgren's left arm, preventing Lundgren from doing any damage.

Jay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lundgren can do to turn this around?

Jay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lundgren doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lundgren manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lundgren gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jay wants to control but Lundgren is keeping busy.

Donny Jay showed his dominance in that final round.
