Kreischer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bert Learns To Hip-Hop Dance To Post Malone. Herbert Kreischer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herbert Kreischer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wanderlei Rua!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreischer misses with a series of wild punches.
An inside leg kick from Rua misses.
Kreischer keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

It looks like Wanderlei Rua has been cut.
Rua keeps the fight on the outside.
Rua tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kreischer looks to throw the jab but Rua is out of range.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rua ducks under a wild hook from Kreischer.
It seemed like Rua was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Rua slips under a jab.
Rua has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kreischer throws out a loose jab but Rua uses good head movement to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Rua on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kreischer scores with a hook to the body. Rua takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kreischer steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rua. That one must have hurt.

Kreischer is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rua is defending well for now.

The cut above Wanderlei Rua's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rua creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Rua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A right-left combo lands from Kreischer.

Kreischer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rua throws a big shot that misses.
Kreischer throws a good cross that connects.

Wanderlei Rua's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Rua misses the jab.
A cross from Rua lands.
Kreischer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kreischer swings for the body but Rua moves out of range.
Kreischer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rua throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kreischer.
Kreischer misses with a straight right.
Rua swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Rua throws a shot from downtown. Kreischer moves away and avoids it.
Rua misses with the body kick
and Rua takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Herbert Kreischer dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kreischer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rua can do to turn this around?
Kreischer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rua! But no joy.
Kreischer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Rua throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kreischer's head.

Rua is trying to force a seperation but Kreischer has the dominant position.

A quick step to the side and Kreischer tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kreischer looks to land a right hand but Rua moved out of range.
Rua avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rua takes one to the chin there.
Rua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Wanderlei Rua's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A very excited looking Herbert Kreischer made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
