Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Longchain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longchain misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bennett looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bennett tries to clinch but Longchain moves out of range.
Longchain throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Bennett will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Longchain avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Longchain gets tackled into the cage by Bennett. Bennett maintains the clinch.

Bennett wants the takedown. Longchain is fighting it off but Bennett persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Longchain's guard against the cage.

Bennett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bennett is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Longchain is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Longchain has escaped and now he's on top!


Bennett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Longchain can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Longchain is working Bennett over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bennett looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Longchain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bennett is looking for a triangle but Longchain pushes his legs off easily.
Bennett keeping moving, preventing Longchain from controlling successfully.
Longchain postures up and lands a big shot to Bennett's brow.
Longchain scoring with punches to the head and body.

Bennett is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Longchain is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Longchain is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Bennett pushes a forearm under Longchain's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Longchain is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Thomas Bennett!
A less than humble Thomas Bennett misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
