Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hightower (ranked 110 p4p, 101 weight class) and Adan Puno (ranked 16 p4p, 15 weight class). Hightower comes to the cage accompanied by The Power. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Hightower! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adan Puno! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hightower is looking to clinch. It seemed like Puno was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Puno throws a nice outside leg kick. Hightower checks a low kick from Puno. A little feinted left hand from Hightower on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Hightower gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Puno digs a right hand underneath Hightower's ribcage. Hightower let out a lung full of air as it connected. Puno wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Nice body punch from Puno. Hightower lands a right hand. Hightower misses with a short punch on the inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Puno as Hightower tries to tie him up. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Puno creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Hightower looking to throw knees to the head but Puno is blocking nicely.
Hightower blocks a body shot from Puno. Hightower misses with a knee to the head. Hightower has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Nice body punch from Puno - that landed with a thud.
Hightower is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puno manages to break the clinch.
Puno cracks Hightower with a good jab. Puno sends Hightower crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Puno is motioning to the referee to let Hightower up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Hightower is rocked! A punch combination from Hightower misses. Puno swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hightower missing with a left hand there. Puno was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Puno throws out a counter right but Hightower avoids it with no problem. Puno circles away from the clinch attempt and Puno counters with a body kick that stops Hightower in his tracks momentarily. This has been an exciting period of action! Hightower takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Puno throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Puno throws the left hand but Hightower avoids the punch easily. An attempted straight right counter from Hightower misses the target. Puno scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hightower doesn't seem bothered though. Puno has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hightower is landing a low percentage of strikes. Puno lands a big right hand that sends Hightower crashing to the mat! Puno stays standing though and waves Hightower back to his feet! Oh Hightower is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
It looks like Jason Hightower has been cut. Puno lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
