Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matsuhiro Toryiama (ranked 671 p4p, 500 weight class) and Donny Jay (ranked 100 p4p, 72 weight class). Toryiama comes to the cage accompanied by Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 - Ore wa Tokoton Tomaranai!. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donny Jay!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toryiama misses with a takedown attempt
and Jay makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Jay throws a hook but Toryiama avoids it easily.
Jay throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jay lands a slapping body shot.
Jay misses with a wild body shot.
Jay lands with a shot to the body.
Jay scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Matsuhiro Toryiama has been cut.
Toryiama tries for a takedown but Jay circles away easily
and Jay counters with a nice uppercut.
Jay displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Toryiama.
Jay's coach down at Brooklyn Brawlers was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jay's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matsuhiro Toryiama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Toryiama dives in for a single leg takedown but Jay sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Donny Jay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jay lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jay fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jay comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jay darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Toryiama fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jay avoids it really well and circles away.

Toryiama swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jay is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Toryiama rather than just go for the knockout.

A little jabbing left from Jay on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Jay swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Toryiama.
Toryiama is looking to clinch.
Jay bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Toryiama's head backwards.

Toryiama bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Toryiama wants to get back to full guard.

Jay is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Toryiama looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jay prevents Toryiama from improving his position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Jay scores with a jab. Toryiama acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Toryiama throws a series of punches but Jay avoids them all with ease.
Jay ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Toryiama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jay was well out of range. Poor timing from Toryiama.

and Jay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Toryiama takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jay stuffs the takedown.
Toryiama takes one on the button.

Toryiama drops his hands momentarily and Jay takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That kick from Jay tenderised Toryiama's leg. Toryiama is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jay scores with the left hand. Toryiama knows he should have avoided that one.

Toryiama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jay is holding Toryiama down, trying to stall.
Jay is not content to let Toryiama control the position.

Toryiama decides to stand back up. Toryiama steps back and let's Jay get back to his feet.
Donny Jay seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jay lands a glancing blow to the side of Toryiama's head.

Toryiama drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Matsuhiro Toryiama's cut is getting worse.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Toryiama misses the shot to the body.
A slow jab from Jay misses its intended target.
Toryiama takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Jay counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jay ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jab, jab by Jay - just one landing.
Matsuhiro Toryiama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jay lands with a nice body punch.
Jay throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Toryiama.
Toryiama changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Nice takedown defense from Jay. No joy for Toryiama on that attempt.
Jay scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Toryiama has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jay finds it's way round the side to connect with Toryiama's head.

Matsuhiro Toryiama's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Toryiama gets a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Toryiama is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jay is defending well.

Jay throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Toryiama stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jay moves into range and connects with a jab.
No luck for Toryiama with that takedown attempt.

Jay lands a nice looking body shot.
Jay has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jay works Toryiama's body with a nice hook.
Jay connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Jay lands a nice hook to Toryiama's body. Toryiama takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Donny Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Toryiama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jay throws out a powerful jab.
Jay fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Toryiama doesn't manage to clinch there - Jay circles away.
Toryiama fails to land the takedown.
Toryiama throws a jab when Jay was well out of range.
Jay rushes Toryiama and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Toryiama is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Jay piles on the pressure and Toryiama crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donny Jay!
