Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Whitaker ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Moe Lester! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitaker scores with a jab. Whitaker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lester staying out of range there. Lester swings widly with a right hand
and Whitaker counters with a good low kick that Lester was not able to check. Whitaker throws a hook but Lester blocks it. Whitaker lands a really nice looking cross but Lester seems unphased.
Whitaker throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lester throws out a counter right but Whitaker avoids it with no problem. Whitaker throws a big shot that misses. Whitaker throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lester takes one on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitaker throws a good cross that connects.
Whitaker is looking to slow Lester down with leg kicks. Good leg kick by Whitaker . The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lester takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A telegraphed right hand from Whitaker misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitaker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Whitaker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Whitaker lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Lester avoids the body shot from Whitaker .

and Whitaker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Roy Whitaker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lester takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A good leg kick by Whitaker . A leg kick checked by Lester. Whitaker throws a leg kick letting Lester counter with a right hand. Lester keeps the fight on the outside. Whitaker throws a sloppy head kick and Lester moves out of range easily. Whitaker throws a hook but Lester blocks it. Whitaker misses with a left hand letting Lester counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lester takes a swing at Whitaker 's ribcage but misses. Whitaker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whitaker wants it to stay on the feet. Whitaker tried to counter with a leg kick but Lester avoided it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Whitaker misses with a right hand and Lester counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Whitaker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Lester throws a big shot that misses. A lazy left from Whitaker finds it's target. A head kick by Whitaker misses and Lester counters with a stiff right hand. Lester blocks a jab. Lester steps in with a hook that catches Whitaker right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Lester follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Whitaker looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Moe Lester! After winning the bout, Moe Lester thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. In defeat, Roy Whitaker stepped up to the mic, saying 'This was my last fight in SPSS and probably in my career, I am getting old and my body keeps failing me, I felt it coming, I knew I had to leave the gloves forever...this is the time where and when I will forever hang the gloves, thank you for everything guys!!'.
