Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Burns (ranked 24926 p4p, 24913 weight class) and Gohan Siduka (ranked 539 p4p, 513 weight class). Gohan Siduka has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Monty Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Gohan Siduka!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siduka moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Burns counters with a shoot takedown. Siduka fights it but they end up in guard.
Burns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Burns trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Burns's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Siduka shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Burns eats them both and turns towards Siduka to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Burns throws some wild stikes that Siduka manages to avoid easily.

Siduka holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Burns tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Burns jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Siduka is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Siduka and Burns has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ground and pound from Burns seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The referee asks Burns politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Burns prefers to stall for the moment though.
Siduka parries the strikes from Burns easily there. Burns is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Siduka to escape.
Siduka is not content to let Burns control the position.

Burns is trying to get an arm triangle but Siduka is defending well.

Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Siduka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Burns tries to advance to mount but Siduka instead regains half guard.
Siduka wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.

Burns looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Burns decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Siduka wants to control but Burns is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Burns stalling.

Burns is working for a kimura but Siduka is defending it quite comfortably.
Burns stalling away here and it's allowed Siduka to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Siduka keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully.
Siduka is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Burns stands up over Siduka, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Burns lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Siduka controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.
Burns content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Siduka keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully.
Burns postures up in Siduka's guard and throws a big left but Siduka blocks it.
Burns slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Check out the look on Burns's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Siduka dodges the ground and pound from Burns.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Burns has hold of Siduka's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Siduka seems comfortable defending it but Burns has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Siduka is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Siduka is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Burns couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Monty Burns!
A pretty intense looking Monty Burns took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
