Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Johnson (ranked 316 p4p, 332 weight class) and Edward Grubbs (ranked 46 p4p, 51 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks to land a left hand but Grubbs moved out of range nicely.
Grubbs defending well as Johnson loads up on a big left hand.

Grubbs throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Grubbs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Edward Grubbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Grubbs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Johnson throws a right hand that misses
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Kareem Johnson has been cut.
Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grubbs takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Johnson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Grubbs ducks down to avoid it.
Grubbs moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Grubbs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Grubbs throws a body shot but no joy.
It looked like Johnson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Grubbs rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Grubbs.
Grubbs jabs Johnson right on the nose. Johnson blinks but takes it well.
Johnson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Grubbs.
Grubbs checks a low kick from Johnson.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Grubbs's head.

Grubbs is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Johnson with a body shot.

and Johnson counters with a left and a right... And another left! Grubbs is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
