Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Higgins (ranked 502 p4p, 1191 weight class) and Spencer Rubenstein (ranked 73 p4p, 185 weight class). Spencer Rubenstein acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Higgins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spencer Rubenstein! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Winston Howard and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rubenstein tries a head kick but it misses.
Rubenstein swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Higgins to counter with a crisp jab. No joy there for Rubenstein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Higgins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rubenstein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Higgins was well out of range. Poor timing from Rubenstein. Higgins thinks about countering with a head kick. Rubenstein loads up on a big right hand but Higgins slips the punch. Higgins uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rubenstein. Rubenstein lands a glancing blow to the side of Higgins's head. Higgins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Higgins lands a slapping body shot.
Higgins throws a body shot but no joy. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Higgins. Rubenstein drops his hands momentarily and Higgins takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Higgins thuds a left hand into Rubenstein's body. Higgins looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Higgins lands with a kick to the temple. Rubenstein shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Higgins scores with a nice head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice jab there from Rubenstein.
It looks like Lou Higgins has been cut. Higgins moves out of range of the strikes. Higgins is looking to counter punch. Rubenstein lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A combination from Rubenstein does no damage. Rubenstein misses with a hook
and Higgins counters with a nice uppercut. Higgins lands a jab to the head.
Higgins scores with a hook to the body. Rubenstein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Rubenstein lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Higgins lands a nice shot that snaps Rubenstein's head back.
Higgins avoids a lazy jab quite easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rubenstein lands a nice shot that snaps Higgins's head back.
Rubenstein dips to his left and cracks Higgins with an uppercut! Higgins staying out of range there. Rubenstein slips under a jab. Rubenstein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Higgins.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rubenstein throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rubenstein throws out a loose jab but Higgins uses good head movement to avoid it. Higgins throws a sloppy body shot
and Rubenstein scores with a counter punch that sends Higgins to the canvas! Rubenstein smells blood - he's punishing Higgins with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Higgins has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Spencer Rubenstein! An out of breath Spencer Rubenstein thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
