Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy McCork (ranked 1203 p4p, 2044 weight class) and Elrey Dorado (ranked 160 p4p, 260 weight class). McCork's entrance music is Alternative Ulster by Stiff Little Fingers. A fine choice. Dorado is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: MY STORY. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy McCork! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elrey Dorado! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dorado throws a low kick but it's checked well by McCork. Dorado walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. McCork connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dorado momentarily.
McCork feints and as Dorado raises his hands in defense, McCork changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Dorado has control of McCork's left arm, preventing McCork from doing any damage. McCork throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McCork has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCork trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dorado is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCork trying to control but Dorado is working from the bottom. McCork looking to sit in guard and control but Dorado gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dorado won't allow McCork to sweep him here. McCork trying to keep a closed guard but Dorado is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dorado's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dorado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. McCork working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dorado doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dorado manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dorado wants to control from the top but McCork keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. McCork fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dorado looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. McCork lands a nice looking body shot.
McCork misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Dorado cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Tommy McCork has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCork lands a jab to the head.
Elrey Dorado is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McCork ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. McCork takes a swing at Dorado's ribcage but misses. McCork backing away here, and Dorado unleashes a leg kick that just misses. McCork lands a slapping body shot.
McCork throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McCork feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dorados jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! McCork lands a nice looking body shot.
Tommy McCork seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McCork works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. McCork misses with a jab to the body
and Dorado counters with a lovely straight right hand! McCork fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dorado manages to avoid it. McCork connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dorado momentarily.

and Dorado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCork gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Dorado to counter with a crisp jab. Dorado throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. McCork tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dorado was well out of range. Poor timing from McCork. Dorado now looks to counter with a shot at the body. McCork takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McCork fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. McCork throws an off balance right hand
and Dorado counters with a right hand to the body. Dorado throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McCork sees it coming and avoids it easily. McCork misses with a shot to the body and Dorado counters with a nice kick to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from McCork. Dorado does a little dance to reset his feet. Dorado keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McCork misses with a shot to the body letting Dorado counter with a right hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy McCork dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tommy McCork's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dorado gets caught napping as McCork dives in and scores a takedown. Dorado manages to retain guard. McCork throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dorado works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dorado has control of McCork's left arm, preventing McCork from doing any damage. McCork throws a big elbow that misses. Dorado has McCork pulled in close to control his posture. McCork with a nice head shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCork throwing strikes from guard but Dorado blocks nicely. McCork works over Dorado with some ground and pound from guard.

Tommy McCork overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McCork pulls Dorado in close to prevent any damage. Dorado stays in close to McCork's body and controls the position. Dorado wants to control from the top but McCork keeps moving. Dorado drops back looking for a leg! McCork is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McCork manages to kick Dorado off! Dorado jumps back into McCork's guard. McCork pulls Dorado in to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dorado trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McCork controls Dorado momentarily but Dorado frees himself. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. McCork keeping moving, preventing Dorado from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dorado misses with a kick to the body.
McCork was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. McCork lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dorado at a distance.
McCork throws a jab when Dorado was well out of range. McCork lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dorado uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCork.
Dorado looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. McCork throws a body shot but no joy. McCork moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Dorado shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. McCork misses the shot to the body. Dorado feints a counter leg kick. McCork throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dorado tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McCork is in Dorado's guard. McCork trying to control the position from guard on top but Dorado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McCork's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dorado is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McCork on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McCork tries to get out of the position. McCork manages to get to full guard.
Dorado pushing down on McCork's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McCork is looking for a sweep. Dorado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! McCork with a hook. McCork with a jab. McCork lands a right hook to the body.
Dorado gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. McCork throws a hook to the side of Dorado's head but Dorado sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. McCork throws a sloppy body shot
and Dorado counters with a stiff right hand. McCork is looking to wear down Dorado with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. McCork throws a hook but Dorado blocks it. McCork closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dorado has hold of McCork's hands but McCork slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McCork working over Dorado with some ground and pound. Dorado looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Dorado felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Dorado has his hands clasped together around McCork's back. He's all about the action. McCork throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dorado to regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorado avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dorado keeping moving, preventing McCork from controlling successfully. McCork throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dorado is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Elrey Dorado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McCork has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McCork connects with a couple of short punches. Dorado tries to land a sweep but no joy. McCork tries to free his leg and advance position but Dorado is retaining full guard. McCork postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dorado is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. McCork throwing strikes but missing.

McCork throws a lazy uppercut
and Dorado counters with a nice uppercut. Good standup being displayed there by McCork as he connects with a hook. McCork throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McCork throws a shot from downtown. Dorado moves away and avoids it. McCork with a hook. McCork uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as McCork checks a leg kick. Dorado looks to score with a jab to the body but McCork is just out of range. Dorado misses with a kick to the body and McCork counters with a single leg into guard. Dorado didn't expect that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCork lands a couple of digs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McCork trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Dorado manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Dorado preventing the sweep. McCork has Dorado pulled in close to control his posture. McCork controls Dorado momentarily but Dorado frees himself. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dorado accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McCork avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dorado makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dorado throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCork works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Tommy McCork showed his dominance in that final round. Well McCork has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
