The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamez scores with the left hand. Short knows he should have avoided that one.
Lamez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lamez tests Short's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lamez cracks Short with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice uppercut there from Lamez.
Lamez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Short gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Short is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lamez has escaped the position, nice work there.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Lamez tries to buck Short off but Short is having none of it.

You can see the frustration on Lamez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Short thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

I wouldn't like to be where Lamez is right now.

Short looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Lamez is avoiding damage well.
Lamez is trying to control Short's posture but Short avoids it.
Short is working to tighten his grip on Lamez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lamez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Short is really squeezing tight and eventually Lamez passes out! Short breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
