The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kapisi sprawling to the canvas! Kapisi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jones finish him?!
It looks like Keone Kapisi has been cut.
Kapisi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kapisi misses with a jab to the body
and Jones counters with a nice right hand that sends Kapisi toppling to the canvas! Kapisi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jones finish him?!
Kapisi is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kapisi throws a shot to the body.
Oh Kapisi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kapisi jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Kim Jones has been cut.
The fighters circle, before Jones throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Kapisi's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Jones lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Kim Jones!
Kim Jones was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
