Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Whealer Van Hire!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whok lands a leg kick that knocks Van Hire off balance momentarily.
Van Hire keeps the fight on the outside.
Whok throws a chopping leg kick but Van Hire manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Whok throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Van Hire lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Whok tries to clinch up but Van Hire circles away and keeps his distance.

and Van Hire counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Whok to the mat, face first! Van Hire goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Whok is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!

Whok tries a low kick but Van Hire avoids it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Van Hire, as that shot connected.

Van Hire throws out a counter right but Whok avoids it with no problem.

and Whok takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Van Hire tries to land a front kick but Whok steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Van Hire! But no joy.

Whok walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Van Hire rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Whok has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Van Hire steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Whok. That one must have hurt.
Whok swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Whok tries to score with a low kick but Van Hire moves his leg out of the way.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It seemed like Van Hire was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Van Hire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whok was well out of range. Poor timing from Van Hire.

Van Hire connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Whok onto his butt! Whok bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Whealer Van Hire will get the nod in that round, having scored multiple knockdowns.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

I was talking to Whok's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Piger Whok.
I think Van Hire has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
