Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren Harged! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roland Cabrera! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harged lands with a hook. Cabrera tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Harged stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harged wants it to stay on the feet. Cabrera tries to move into range but Harged moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Harged moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cabrera shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cabrera showed some decent athleticism there. Cabrera seems to be working for a kimura but Harged defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cabrera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cabrera is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Harged pushes Cabrera off looking to stand but Cabrera dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabrera wants to control but Harged is keeping him busy. Cabrera seems to be looking for submissions.
Harged wants to improve his position but Cabrera is controlling well.
Cabrera is looking for a kimura but Harged is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cabrera to get the leverage. Cabrera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Harged sees it coming and defends easily. Cabrera is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Harged defends it well. Cabrera wants to work for an arm triangle but Harged is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Harged is looking for a sweep. Cabrera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabrera is pressing down on Harged's thigh, looking to free his foot. Harged is holding on for now. Cabrera wants to take a breather but Harged is having none of it. Cabrera is trying for a kimura here. Harged looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Cabrera wins by kimura!
