Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kotetsu Yama (ranked 3253 p4p, 5631 weight class) and Kieth Stokes (ranked 383 p4p, 475 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kotetsu Yama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kieth Stokes!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yama slaps away a takedown attempt from Stokes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yama feinted with a counter takedown.
Stokes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yama appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
A telegraphed right hand from Yama misses the target.
Stokes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Stokes throws an overhand right that lands on Yama's shoulder, as Yama tries to avoid the shot.
Yama attempts a counter takedown but Stokes avoids it well and moves away.

Yama is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stokes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stokes's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Yama gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Yama apologises and we restart here on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stokes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

We've been hearing that Yama has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Stokes is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Yama has his foot on Stokes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stokes works his way back into a safe position though.
Yama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stokes goes for a double leg but Yama avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yama continues to drive forward.
Yama changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Stokes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yama.

Stokes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Yama seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
