Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Ryan (ranked 927 p4p, 1066 weight class) and Jeff Lee (ranked 133 p4p, 151 weight class). Lee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Doomsday Clock. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Lee!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee misses with a body kick.
Lee takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ryan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lee tries to land a front kick but Ryan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ryan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.
Lee takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ryan with a jab.
Lee lands a nice looking body kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ryan checks a leg kick.
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ryan swings for the body but Lee moves out of range.
Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ryan.
Lee avoids the body shot from Ryan.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Lee.
Ryan cracks a nice hook into Lee's ribs.

Ryan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lee.
Jeff Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lee. That's going to slow Ryan down.

enabling Ryan to counter with a crisp jab.

Lee lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ryan will feel that in the morning.
Ryan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lee momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lee throws a head kick that misses.
Ryan swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Ryan moves out of range easily.
It looked like Ryan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lee.
Ryan goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ryan prevents a body shot from Lee.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lee stuffs the takedown.
Ryan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lee sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lee takes one to the side of the head.
Ryan scores with a decent looking hook.
Lee throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ryan.
Lee throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ryan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lee tried to score with a low kick but Ryan checks it.
A counter left hand to the body from Ryan misses its target.
Ryan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Lee misses with a low kick.

Ryan misses with an uppercut.
Lee throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ryan attempts a counter takedown but Lee avoids it well and moves away.
Ryan lands with a good body shot.
Lee throws a head kick but Ryan moves out of range.
Ryan is looking for a counter combo.
Ryan takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee throws a body shot but no joy.
An attempted straight right counter from Ryan misses the target.
Lee throws a head kick but Ryan moves out of range.
Lee throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Lee on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ryan manages to avoid it.
Ryan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lee eats them both and turns towards Ryan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ryan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A little feinted left hand from Ryan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ryan. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ryan throws a hook but Lee avoids it easily.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Ryan misses the target.
Ryan scores with a punch to the head.
A head kick misses from Lee.
Ryan throws a shot from downtown. Lee moves away and avoids it.
Lee throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Ryan lands a nice shot that snaps Lee's head back.
Lee swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ryan counters with a nice uppercut.
Lee connects with a solid leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ryan wants to slow Lee down by chopping away at his legs.
Ryan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lee under the eye.
Ryan swings for the body but Lee moves out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eddie Ryan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ryan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ryan sizes up Lee with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lee moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Eddie Ryan is winning the standup battle so far.
Ryan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ryan will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Lee takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Ryan moves out of range easily.
Lee throws a wild body kick that Ryan sees coming a mile off.
Ryan dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Ryan's head and hops out.
It looks like Ryan has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters circling - Ryan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A nice side step and Lee releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.
Ryan is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ryan is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.

Ryan drives through with a takedown into Lee's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryan wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ryan is controlling Lee's posture.
Lee tries to stand but Ryan is controlling from the bottom.
Ryan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ryan pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ryan controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself.
Ryan wants to sweep but no luck.

Ryan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ryan has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ryan gets a takedown into half guard.
Ryan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lee is trying to stand up here but Ryan is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ryan working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lee's thigh. Lee counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryan wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Lee is looking to stand up but Ryan isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lee throws a body kick that misses
enabling Ryan to counter with a crisp jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ryan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lee - the referee stops the clock and Ryan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lee. Ryan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eddie Ryan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Ryan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Ryan.
Ryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryan somewhat.
Lee with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ryan to score with a decent uppercut.
Lee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ryan.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lee.
Lee wants to slow Ryan down by chopping away at his legs.
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ryan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lee. Lee obviously looking to wear him down.
Lee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lee throws a head kick but Ryan moves out of range.

Lee pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ryan throws an overhand right that lands on Lee's shoulder, as Lee tries to avoid the shot.
Ryan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lee connects with a high kick.
Ryan tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ryan backing away here, and Lee unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Jeff Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ryan shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lee appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
A solid body kick from Lee.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ryan throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Lee tries to move into range but Ryan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lee throws a lazy body kick
and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ryan misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Ryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ryan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lee is looking to escape.
Jeff Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ryan trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee pushes Ryan off looking to stand but Ryan dives back in and keeps control.

Ryan is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.

Ryan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lee is just riding it out for now. Ryan eventually gives up the hold.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lee is trying to stand up here but Ryan is controlling him well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lee throws a body punch but Ryan moves out of range.
Lee takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lee fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ryan checks it well.
It looked like Ryan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ryan scores with a shot to the body.
Lee takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lee throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Ryan to counter with a crisp jab.
Ryan checks a low kick from Lee.
Ryan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lee.
Ryan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lee has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Ryan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lee is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ryan rather than just go for the knockout.
Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ryan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Eddie Ryan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lee misses with a head kick.
Lee misses with a low kick.
Ryan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ryan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lees jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddie Ryan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ryan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
