Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benson Bonanza (ranked 1691 p4p, 2033 weight class) and Kaoru Nagashima (ranked 155 p4p, 190 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Benson Bonanza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaoru Nagashima! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. No luck for Nagashima with that takedown attempt. Bonanza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nagashima. An attempted straight right counter from Bonanza misses the target. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nagashima. Benson Bonanza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaoru Nagashima. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bonanza gets caught napping as Nagashima dives in and scores a takedown. Bonanza manages to retain guard. Bonanza has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagashima throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Nagashima scoring with some ground and pound. Bonanza might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bonanza is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nagashima defends well. Bonanza looking for a guillotine here but Nagashima defends easily.
Nagashima lands a couple of digs. Nagashima is in close to Bonanza's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nagashima connects with a couple of short punches. Bonanza looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nagashima cracks Bonanza with a solid left hand. Nagashima landing some decent shots from guard. Nagashima forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nagashima working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bonanza slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Nagashima chips away with some ground and pound. Nagashima postures up and lands a big shot to Bonanza's brow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bonanza has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Nagashima doesn't defend quickly enough and Bonanza has managed to lock this one up! Can Nagashima escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bonanza on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Benson Bonanza! In defeat, Kaoru Nagashima stepped up to the mic, saying 'I meditated on the mountain but my understanding was off, Akirono has left me this day, I will return stronger and aligned'.
