Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anton Ilmarinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Lake!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ilmarinen gets a clinch.

Ilmarinen pushes Lake back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Ilmarinen tightens his grip and picks Lake up, before dumping him to the ground. Lake manages to land in guard.

Lake tries to kick Ilmarinen off but Ilmarinen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lake might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Lake has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ilmarinen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The fighters circling - Lake throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ilmarinen cracks Lake with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ilmarinen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lake circles away quickly and effectively.

and Ilmarinen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lake! But no joy.
Lake loads up on a big right hand but Ilmarinen slips the punch.

Cody Lake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of Ilmarinen 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lake takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Lake swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Ilmarinen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lake wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ilmarinen manages to pass to side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anton Ilmarinen.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ilmarinen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
