Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calico Reddick (ranked 3912 p4p, 3943 weight class) and Pat McGarrett (ranked 465 p4p, 467 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Calico Reddick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pat McGarrett! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reddick shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reddick was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Reddick wants to control but McGarrett is keeping him busy. Reddick is really struggling to control McGarrett but he's trying to hold on to the position. McGarrett is trying to get back to his feet. McGarrett is not content to let Reddick control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reddick working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McGarrett is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Reddick asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reddick wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGarrett, who protects the arm well. McGarrett pushes Reddick away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reddick gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Reddick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McGarrett looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGarrett pushes Reddick away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reddick gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Reddick is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McGarrett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Reddick prevents McGarrett from escaping the position. McGarrett tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. McGarrett wants to get back to his feet. McGarrett manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Reddick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGarrett is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reddick is controlling him well. McGarrett is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Reddick trying to control the action but McGarrett is working from the bottom. McGarrett pushes Reddick away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reddick gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. He's worked his way up against the cage but Reddick has just dragged him back down to the mat. Reddick wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGarrett, who protects the arm well.

Reddick wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGarrett keeps working. McGarrett wants to get back to his feet. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Reddick fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McGarrett to the ground. Reddick is now in McGarrett's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McGarrett wants to stand up but Reddick is controlling him. McGarrett has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Reddick has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Reddick pushes McGarrett back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Calico Reddick dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
McGarrett gets caught flat footed, as Reddick shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McGarrett is looking to stand up but Reddick isn't so interested in that idea. Reddick trying to control but McGarrett is working from the bottom. Reddick won't allow McGarrett to get back to his feet. Reddick trying to control but McGarrett is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reddick stops McGarrett from standing up. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reddick gets a takedown into half guard. McGarrett is trying to stand up here but Reddick is controlling him well. Calico Reddick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McGarrett is refusing to be controlled, as Reddick sits in half guard. McGarrett tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Reddick manages to move to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reddick wants to finish this one by submission but McGarrett is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Reddick. Reddick has hold of McGarrett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McGarrett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
McGarrett is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reddick looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. McGarrett really wants to buck Reddick off and get back to his feet. Reddick can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGarrett is looking to escape. Reddick won't let McGarrett get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Reddick is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McGarrett has managed to escape the submission attempt.
McGarrett is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reddick has control of McGarrett's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McGarrett regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Reddick looking to control and managing it successfully. McGarrett is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
McGarrett is squirming around, avoiding Reddick's attempts to control the action. Reddick content just to control the position here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McGarrett is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Calico Reddick dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Reddick manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McGarrett on his heels. He'll look to pass McGarrett's guard now, I'm sure. Reddick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGarrett can do to turn this around? Reddick wants to control from the top but McGarrett keeps moving. McGarrett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGarrett keeping moving, preventing Reddick from controlling successfully. McGarrett is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reddick is controlling him. Reddick trying to control the position from guard on top but McGarrett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Reddick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McGarrett to the mat! McGarrett manages to get full guard. McGarrett is looking to stand back up but Reddick counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McGarrett. McGarrett is trying to stand.

Reddick looking to control but McGarrett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Reddick won't let McGarrett get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Reddick wants to control the pace but McGarrett is squirming around nicely. Pat McGarrett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reddick looking for a guillotine from mount but McGarrett is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Calico Reddick showed his dominance in that final round. Well Reddick has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
