Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Hopson (ranked 1790 p4p, 2321 weight class) and Greg Pearson (ranked 241 p4p, 302 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jackson Hopson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Greg Pearson! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson throws a head kick but Hopson moves out of range.
Hopson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson throws a leg kick and Hopson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Pearson lands with a good body shot. Pearson's corner calls for a 1-2. Pearson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Pearson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hopson manages to avoid it. Hopson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson scores with a body shot.
Pearson throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Hopson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes from Pearson. Those never looked like landing. Hopson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson looks to score with a jab to the body but Hopson is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Pearson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pearson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hopson manages to avoid it. An inside leg kick from Pearson misses. Pearson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hopson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Pearson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pearson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hopson counters with a stiff right hand. Pearson misses with a left hand and Hopson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pearson tries to bum rush Hopson with a series of wild strikes but Hopson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hopson is looking to counter punch. Pearson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hopson.
Hopson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Pearson. Hopson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Pearson throws a body kick that misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pearson tests Hopson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pearson stalks Hopson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hopson's face. Hopson staggers backwards, shaken.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pearson takes a swing at Hopson's ribcage but misses. Hopson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson throws a nice inside leg kick. Hopson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pearson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hopson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hopson throwing a counter right hand but Pearson manages to avoid it. That kick from Pearson tenderised Hopson's leg. Hopson is trying to keep his angry face on. Pearson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Pearson misses with a lunging right hand
and Hopson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pearson misses with a leg kick and Hopson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pearson looks to score with a jab to the body but Hopson is just out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pearson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hopson's hands. Pearson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Pearson misses with a right hand and Hopson counters with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pearson misses the body punch letting Hopson counter with a right hand. Pearson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hopson is looking to counter punch. Pearson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hopson circles away quickly and effectively. Hopson walks into a straight right hand from Pearson. Pearson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hopson momentarily.
Pearson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A little feinted left hand from Hopson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Pearson dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Pearson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Pearson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Pearson works the jab nicely.
Hopson is rocked! Pearson throws a lazy head kick and Hopson counters with a nice uppercut. Oh Hopson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hopson blocks a jab. Hopson seems to have got his legs back now. Hopson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Pearson throws a leg kick but Hopson moved away. A little feinted left hand from Hopson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pearson misses with a body punch
and Hopson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pearson! Hopson lets Pearson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Pearson is rocked!
It looks like Greg Pearson has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Pearson throws a lazy body kick and Hopson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pearson is still on wobbly legs! Can Hopson finish him? Pearson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hopson rattles Pearson with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Pearson tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Hopson dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Pearson stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jackson Hopson! After winning the bout, Jackson Hopson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
