PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximilian Bonaparte (ranked 148 p4p, 229 weight class) and Jimmy Granite (ranked 24 p4p, 33 weight class). Granite has chosen Jungle as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonaparte throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Granite throws a push kick but Bonaparte slaps the foot to one side.
Bonaparte throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bonaparte scores with a jab to the body.
Granite waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bonaparte.

Bonaparte gets tackled into the cage by Granite . Granite maintains the clinch.
Bonaparte misses with some punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Granite lands a nice shot that snaps Bonaparte's head back.

Granite drops Bonaparte with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bonaparte looks back up at him and smiles so Granite waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Granite throws an overhand right that lands on Bonaparte's shoulder, as Bonaparte tries to avoid the shot.

Bonaparte's corner calls for a 1-2. Bonaparte obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Granite throws out a counter right but Bonaparte avoids it with no problem.

Granite takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Granite throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bonaparte.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

As Granite backs away, Bonaparte returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Granite takes the fight into the clinch.
Bonaparte is trying to force a seperation but Granite has the dominant position.

Granite softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Granite tries to work over Bonaparte's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bonaparte blocks a body shot from Granite .

Bonaparte manages to break the clinch.

Granite wants to clinch but Bonaparte slips to the side
and Bonaparte counters with a stiff right hand.

Granite uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bonaparte.

Bonaparte has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Bonaparte lands a big right hand that sends Granite crashing to the mat! Bonaparte stays standing though and waves Granite back to his feet!

Granite avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

It looked like Bonaparte wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Granite sends Bonaparte crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Granite is motioning to the referee to let Bonaparte up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Bonaparte is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
